Orthograph (coming soon)
A Pencil-first sketch surface for technical diagrams, shared between you on an iPad and the coding agents working on your Mac.
Coding agents can read code, logs and screenshots, but they can't easily share a drawing with you. Orthograph gives you both the same page. You sketch with Apple Pencil on iPad. Your agents read the drawing as a structured scene of shapes, arrows, text and ink, and can add or change elements on the same document. Both sides see each other's edits as they happen.
How it works
- Orthograph for Mac is a small background service that holds your documents and exposes them to coding agents through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). It will install with Homebrew.
- Orthograph for iPad is the drawing surface: Apple Pencil ink, shapes, connectors and text, joined live to the document on your Mac. The iPad app is in development and not yet on the App Store.
- Your agents work with vector data first, so they see exactly what is on the page, and can ask for a rendered image when they need one.
Your documents stay on your Mac
Documents are stored locally on your Mac. By default the Mac service only accepts connections from the Mac itself; an optional read-only viewer can be shared on your local network. Orthograph contains no advertising or analytics.
Requirements
- A Mac with Homebrew, for the Orthograph service.
- An iPad running iPadOS 17 or later, with Apple Pencil, for the drawing app (coming soon).
- A coding agent that supports MCP.
